Berkeley Hotel – Knightsbridge
Late on in 2020 we embarked on an extremely demanding project to refurbish the world-famous Berkeley Hotel working for our valued Client Access Solutions Scaffolding and for the Main Contractor Piper Hill Construction.
The project involved remodelling the Front Façade straightening the profile with a new wedge-shaped extension and the refurbishment of this entire wing including removal of existing lower floors and replacing them at new levels
Tubular Techniques were engaged to produce the complicated front elevation scaffold which included a heavy-duty loading gantry double width wedge shaped access scaffold and hoist support and enclosure with numerous adaptions and additional scaffold sections along the way as the project progressed.
We were also then engaged by the Main contractor to provide the AIP documentation for TFL relating to the temporary propping required within the basement areas enabling the floor slabs to be remodelled along with designing the RMD propping to achieve this. Overall this has been a challenging project with a wide variety of designs required for both the temporary works and the Scaffolding.
