This project was to undertake roofing replacement works and general patch repairs to the wattle and daub walls of this listed farmhouse cottage within the grounds of Grove Farm, which due to lack of use had fallen into disrepair over many years.
In order to preserve the listed building extensive roofing and wall repairs were now required.
Our brief was to provide a temporary roof and encapsulation around the complete building to enable these sensitive works to be carried out. As the condition of the building had deteriorated significantly, no support could be taken from the building itself. Furthermore, we were required to provide support to one of the gable walls which was leaning quite severely. (see photo). We provided a design for a buttressed access scaffold with full temporary roof which was completely independent of the original building structure. Due to its remote location and the logistics of getting kentledge to the site the scaffold was held down using hurricane ground anchors.
